Books, eBooks or Audiobooks?

Books, eBooks or Audiobooks?

Do you read books, eBooks on a device, or listen to audiobooks? Or do you do all three?

Books

I love physical books. Both hardbacks and paperbacks. I love seeing my bookshelf with all their cover and spine designs. Although I do need more room on my bookshelves. You know how some of the books on shelves in bookstores are turned so their cover is displayed? … I can’t do that because there isn’t enough room on my shelves. I’ve even had to fit books on top of and behind other books. It’s a Tetris bookshelf.

Books are the way I usually choose to read. Holding a physical book forces me to sit and focus on only one thing (the book!). I forget about everything else, which makes reading really relaxing for me (unless a character has just died or there’s a cliffhanger).

Ebooks

I’ve read a couple of eBooks (is it eBooks or iBooks?), but I prefer to read the physical version of the book. It means I get distracted less (I would be reading on my phone and therefore getting all my notifications popping up on the screen). And because I can’t see all my eBooks in front of me at once, I sometimes forget which ones I have. I should go check… there might be some I want to move up my to-be-read list.

Audiobooks

I actually have never listened to a full book via audiobook. I’ve heard the start of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone… and that’s it. I’d really love to get into audiobooks, but I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Leave me some recommendations! I’ve heard The Illuminae Files are fantastic on audiobook (from the authors but I believe them). Audiobooks would be really great to listen to on the train to university.
